Eduard Belsky

Eduard Belsky is one of the most renowned and established contemporary Ukrainian artists. A unique combination of the best traditions of Ukrainian school of painting with a great influence of the French School has made his style brilliantly original and allowed him to gain enormous recognition internationally with strong presence in France, Germany, Switzerland, Check Republic, UK, Russia, Austria and USA. His works have been acquired by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine and are in reputable private collections.

He is a talented, impetuous, carpe diem Artist with slightly enigmatic character. Women are a prominent aspect of his paintings. They are painted as thoughtful, allusive, suggestive and more abstract forms of female figure. Beautifully simplified, emotionally reduced images of women engage viewer in profound dialogue of examination of women’s complex nature. In his works Belsky often reflects the duality of life, as well the equality of things in the world: two people together as a pair of faces, two faces in one, two figures. The landscapes are charged with energy, dynamism and the viewer feels transposed within the painting.

The works by Ed Belsky are lucid, harmonious and mastered skilfully with unmistakably recognised expressive, gestural and sensual brush strokes and colour combinations.

Artist lives and works in Ukraine and Slovenia.
